"Super easy, but sometimes a little chaotic"
I’ve been using remove.bg it’s ridiculously easy. You just upload a photo and boom, the background vanishes like some kind of digital magic trick. When it works well, it’s amazing. But every now and then, it gets a little dramatic and starts chopping off hair, tiny details, or random edges like it has a personal vendetta against them. For simple pictures, it’s totally fine and saves a lot of time. But if the photo is busy, I usually have to go back in and fix things myself. Overall, it’s a handy tool, I just wish the results were a bit more reliable.
"I tried Remove.bg because I just needed..."
I tried Remove.bg because I just needed one quick cutout, but the free preview was so low-res that it was kind of useless. I couldn’t really see the edges or check if the little details were cleaned up properly, so I had no idea if it was worth paying for or not. I totally get charging for the final download, but at least let people actually see whether it worked first... ended up feeling like a waste of time
"Quick support, but I expected clearer instructions"
I had a small issue with my account and reached out to support, and they got back to me way faster than I thought they would. They fixed it the same day, which was great. I was expecting the instructions to be a bit clearer at first, but once support stepped in, it was handled without any hassle. Overall, really happy with the experience.

"Works okay on my phone, but has some annoying bits"
I’ve used remove.bg on my phone a handful of times, and it does the job quickly for basic background removal. It’s handy when I just need a quick edit, but it’s definitely not perfect. Sometimes it messes up hair or tiny details, and trying to fix those on a small screen gets frustrating fast. Also, the reminders/notifications feel a bit aggressive, which gets old quickly. Overall, useful in a pinch, but I wouldn’t rely on it for anything that needs to look super clean.
"Remove.bg works fine for removing backgrounds, no real..."
Remove.bg works fine for removing backgrounds, no real issues there. I just wasn’t totally sure what happens to my photos after I upload them. The privacy info is available, but it didn’t feel super easy to understand, at least for me. I’d feel better if the data details were explained more simply, like what’s stored, for how long, and..

"Fit right into the way I work"
I was just looking for something that wouldn’t slow me down, and this worked right away. The API and Zapier setup connected on the first try, which made my life a lot easier and saved me a bunch of time

"I’ve been using their API for a while..."
I’ve been using their API for a while now, and it randomly drops requests way more often than it should. Support keeps telling me to just retry, but that doesn’t really solve anything when client jobs are sitting there stuck. What’s more frustrating is it feels like the goalposts keep moving — first it’s a temporary issue, then it’s our retry logic, then it’s something else we need to adjust. I just need the API to be reliable, not a guessing game every time something fails.
"Works Great... When It Feels Like It"
I tried using Remove.bg on a batch of product photos, and the results were kind of all over the place. A few came out looking clean, which was nice, but then others had missing edges or random bits of background still hanging around for whatever reason. The funny part is I used the same lighting and setup for all of them, so apparently consistency was asking too much. It’s fine if you just need something quick here and there, but I definitely wouldn’t count on it for a bigger batch of images

"I’ve been using remove.bg for quick product..."
I’ve been using remove.bg for quick product photos and it does the job really well, the free size limit is a little annoying sometimes but I can live with it because it doesn’t slap some huge ugly watermark on the image and it still saves me a lot of time.
"Portrait cutouts were a mess"
I tried this on a few portrait photos and the results were rough, especially around the hair where the edges kept looking choppy and fake, and then it would randomly take chunks out of my shoulders while leaving these weird gray smudges around my face, so every time I opened the finished image I just felt like I had more cleanup to do than if I had started from scratch.
Maybe it’s fine for simple product shots or objects with clean edges, but for actual people photos it really didn’t work for me. I ended up fixing everything manually anyway, which made the whole thing feel kind of pointless.
"Canceling Worked, Though It Wasn’t Super Obvious"
I canceled my remove.bg plan and, to be fair, it did go through in the end. I just had to poke around a bit before finding the right page, which made me wonder if I was missing something. It wasn’t a bad experience exactly, but I feel like it could be a little more straightforward

"Refund Came Through, But It Took Longer Than I Expected"
I did end up getting my refund, so I appreciate that they followed through. It just took longer than I was hoping, which was a little frustrating. I’ve generally liked this brand and have ordered from them before, so I’m kind of torn—I want to keep supporting them, but the slow refund process definitely made me think twice.

"Credits are easy to follow"
I’ve been using remove.bg and it does the job without much fuss. The credit setup is straightforward, so I wasn’t really confused about how it works. I do think it could give you a clearer heads-up before credits get used, because it’s not always something you want to notice after the fact. Other than that, it’s been good overall.

"Wish I’d known the API docs would be this confusing"
Just to be clear, I’m only talking about the API docs here, not the actual remove.bg app. I was trying to get the API set up and ended up wishing I’d looked around a bit more before spending time on it, because the documentation felt scattered and harder to follow than it needed to be.
Some of the options are mentioned, but things like limits, credits, error handling, and what happens with different image sizes could really use clearer explanations. I kept having to guess, test, and backtrack, which was frustrating when I just wanted a quick setup. Looking back, I regret assuming it would be straightforward from the docs alone.

"Shadows don’t always look quite right"
I’m not saying I don’t like the overall look, because it can be nice, but the lighting feels a bit off sometimes. The shadows don’t always look natural, and every now and then they kind of pull me out of the experience.

"Desktop app keeps freezing"
I tried using the desktop app to batch remove backgrounds, and it just kept freezing like it was stuck forever. The weird part is the web version works way better, so I don’t get why the desktop app feels this useless. Make it make sense.

"Worked okay at first, but not for my shop photos"
I’d heard a few people mention Remove.bg, so I figured I’d try it for some product photos for my shop. The site itself is easy enough to use, and for really simple images it actually did a decent job. I was kind of hopeful at first because it saved me a little time on a couple of basic shots. But once I started using it on my actual product photos, the results weren’t great. The edges looked a bit rough in places, and some of the shadows got removed in a weird way that made the items look off. I ended up having to go back and fix most of the pictures anyway, so for what I needed, it didn’t really feel worth it.

"I was a little cautious at first because..."
I was a little cautious at first because I didn’t want my photos looking messy, but the cutouts came out really clean. The edges were sharp and exactly what I needed.

Well... the download looked really clean to me. The quality was solid, and it didn’t come out all blurry or messy.
